Pramberger Asymmetrically Tapered Soundboard
By tapering along the bridge mount rather than the centerline, the soundboard is free to vibrate with greater piower and brilliance.
Symmetrically tapered soundboard
Most piano builders make few adjustments to the most crucial part of the instrument, the soundboard.
The backbone of the piano is the hardwood rim. Laminated braces support the whole instrument and are precisely attached to the rim in a radial pattern using sophisticated French dovetail joinery and maple doweling. This superior method of joinery provides the ultimate in strength and stability.
INNOVATIVE BALANCE AND SUPERIOR SOUND
Curved. Their apexes support the contact points of the bridges, rather than the center of the soundboard as in other lesser designs. This asymmetrical design produces the finest sound energy transmission throughout the instrument's range. This innovation makes a world of difference in the quality of our pianos' sound and tone color.
Every nuance in the shape of a soundboard can change a piano's tone dramatically. Therefore, applying Joseph Pramberger's 40 years of engineering and design experience, we have developed asymmetrically tapered soundboards with subtly curved edges to achieve a custom-designed profile for each model. Pramberger's secret geometric design allows our soundboards enhanced flexibility and unparalleled projection. The resulting tone-from the hardest strike in the bass to the lightest touch in the treble-is richer and more vibrant.
